‘Embrace the challenge of resilience’ this Business Continuity Awareness Week 2023

Business Continuity Awareness Week (BCAW) is an annual global event to raise awareness of business continuity and resilience, led by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI). It takes place on 15 to 19 May 2023 and this year will revolve around the theme of ‘Embracing the challenge of resilience’.

Explaining the theme, the BCI said: “Recent events - from the war in Ukraine, the rise of inflation, the high cost of living, supply chain disruptions, to the energy supply crisis - are pressuring organisations to adopt resilience as the ‘norm’. Staying resilient, building resilience, and maintaining resilience are top priorities for organisations worldwide.

“This year, BCAW 2023 has been designed to support professionals and organisations in raising awareness and embedding business continuity to build resilience so that they can thrive in the face of adversity.”

Sponsored by Riskonnect, BCAW 2023 will include a programme of webinars, downloadable resources, articles, blogs, and other items.

Each day of Business Continuity Awareness Week will focus on a particular sub-theme, as follows:

  • Monday, 15th May: Cyber Resilience

  • Tuesday, 16th May: Supply Chain Resilience

  • Wednesday, 17th May: Operational Resilience

  • Thursday, 18th May: Personal Resilience

  • Friday, 19th May: Organisational Resilience.
