No matter how careful you are, there are some things you can’t control. An emergency situation could hit you and your family hard, damage your home severely or seriously harm your business.


Yet there a basic steps you can take to make sure you’re properly prepared should an emergency happen.

Top 5 tips to help you prepare for an emergency:

You need this before an emergency occurs. Check the length and coverage of the policy.

If you live in a flood risk area keep important and treasured documents and photos upstairs

Have a back up

Make copies of important documents, photos and other files and back them up securely online

Take a look at the risks that could affect your community

Have emergency friends

Identify one emergency friend who lives nearby and another who lives further away.
